8:28 p.m.: She ends the show with a mic drop, and a football catch as she jumps off the stairs. A great show.
8:25 p.m.: Gaga hit us with a classic. She’s playing “Bad Romance” and there’s a cool wave going on in the crowd, along with tons of fire blazing.
8:22 p.m.: She’s transitioned into “Million Reasons” and there’s a beautiful light setup with the crowd going on:
8:20 p.m.: Gaga is playing “Just Dance” and she’s got on an amazing jacket while keytaring.
Look at this thing:
8:18 p.m.: Now we’re being treated to “Telephone” and the stage setup keeps getting more amazing.
8:16 p.m.: Tons of dancers come out on the stage, there’s awesome fire coming from towers, and she’s performing “Born This Way”
There was also this dope pianoarc:
8:14 p.m.: Her first song is “Poker Face”
8:13 p.m.: Lady Gaga starts the halftime show on the roof of NRG Stadium, with Blue and red stars up in the sky.
They form an American flag, and she jumps.
Before the show
Lady Gaga is set to perform during the Super Bowl 51 halftime show, and because this is a Super Bowl halftime show and because Lady Gaga is performing in it, it’s bound to be a memorable moment.
In past performances, Gaga has come out in a meat dress and an egg, and now she’s got the biggest stage on the planet to do whatever she wants.
She spoke to the media on Thursday, but revealed few secrets. She won’t be wearing a meat dress, but nothing else has been ruled out. She hasn’t dropped hints as to what the playlist will be or whether she’ll use her stage to speak out against President Donald Trump.
“The only statements that I’ll be making during the halftime show are the ones that I’ve been consistently making throughout my career,” Lady Gaga said, according to the New York Times. “I believe in a passion for inclusion. I believe in the spirit of equality, and that the spirit of this country is one of love and compassion and kindness. My performance will uphold those philosophies.”
Gaga has also said that she’s been planning a Super Bowl since she was 4 years old and knew exactly what she’s going to do.
This should be a fun and upbeat event as has been true of the artist this decade. Beyonce and Bruno Mars moved the crowd last year, and Katy Perry and Left Shark the year before. You probably remember Left Shark more than that Super Bowl game.
Take that as a reminder. Even if the game is absolute trash, there will be plenty of Gaga to talk about.
