For the next few weeks, free agent running back DeAngelo Williams will be busy preparing for a tag team match at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XV pay-per-view on July 2 in Orlando, Fla.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, Williams is teaming up with Moose to take on Chris Adonis and Eli Drake. Moose, aka Quinn Ojinnaka, is a former NFL offensive lineman who played for four different teams in his six-year career.
Impact Wrestling posted a video on its Twitter page of Williams arriving at the company’s Nashville office:

Williams, 34, appeared at an Impact Wrestling television taping in April. He, along with then-Cleveland Browns tight end Gary Barnidge, rescued Moose from a Davey Richards attack.
Active professional football players have made guest appearances on professional wrestling tapings in the past. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has appeared at several WWE events. In fact, he helped WWE’s Mojo Rawley win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.
Williams still isn't on a roster, and if he decides to retire from the NFL, he could have a bright future in wrestling. Williams has rushed for 8,096 yards and 61 touchdowns in his career.
