Aggregated NHL Power Rankings: Week 16

The Philadelphia Flyers rule and the New Jersey Devils don't totally suck. It's Week 16 of the Aggregated NHL Power Rankings.

The focus of this week's Aggregated NHL Power Rankings isn't the top, or even the middle where teams are duking it out for playoff positioning prior to the All-Star break. No, the big story this week is the surging New Jersey Devils. Sorry John MacLean, the Jacques Lemaire-led Devils said Yippe Ki Yay Mother****er to the basement as they crawled to the XX spot this week.

Of course, Devils fans, here's one thing to consider -- do you want your team to out of the bottom of the barrel or would you prefer them to just lose, lose, and lose some more in order to get the best positioning for the draft lottery pick?

There's other action, though, and the Philadelphia Flyers have pushed the semi-slumping Vancouver Canucks out of the way and claimed first place. Here are your rankings for this week.

(Apologies for the format difference this week. SBNation.com's editor is a little different from FTR, but I'll try to fix it for next week.)

Biggest outlier: Let's ignore the WTF rankings of TSN, because even with their formulated methodology, I see inconsistencies. Outside of that, how good are the New Jersey Devils? CBS has them at 21st, ESPN has them at 25th, and the rest of the folks stick them in the usual spot around the bottom. I suppose CBS has been listening to The Replacements' classic tune Color Me Impressed a bit too much while watching the Devils.

Most consensus: That would be your first-place Philadelphia Flyers on top. At the bottom? For the first time in a while, there's some variation on the bottom three.
