The Florida Panthers dropped the Tampa Bay Lightning by a score of 7-4. The game was all tied up 2-2 after the first period, but in the second period the Panthers began to pull away, out scoring the Lightning 2-1 to take a 4-3 lead. The game broke open in the final period when the Panthers scored 3 goals and finished off the Lightning.
Kris Versteeg and Stephen Weiss each had two goals and two assists for the Panthers while defenseman Brian Campbell had four assists on the night. Versteeg broke the game open with his second power play goal to put the Panthers up 5-3 and Jason Garrison sealed the game with a late power play goal to take down the Lightning, 7-4.
