NCAA Hockey Tournament 2012: Ferris State Hopes To Return To Form After Disappointing CCHA Tourney

The Ferris State Bulldogs have been sitting at home since March 11, so whether or not the time off is a help or hindrance will be interesting to see. The Bulldogs were upset by last-place Bowling Green at home in the CCHA quarterfinals after beating them 5-1 and 4-1 just a few weeks earlier

But while they've lost three of their last four games, those are the only three games Ferris State have lost in 2012.

CCHA Coach of the Year Bob Daniels' team has been winning with defense, and a big reason for their success is the two-headed monster of goalies, Taylor Nelson and C.J. Motte. Nelson has been the more successful of the two, winning nearly three-fourths of his games, but with both goalies having a .920 save percentage or better the Bulldogs have a team that can get hot at the right time.

They stand to stop a Denver Pioneers team which features one of the better offenses in the nation.
