Capitals Coach Dale Hunter May Or May Not Talk To His Players

John Erskine hasn't played a game since Feb. 12, so it's likely that he's not all that happy with Washington Capitals head coach Dale Hunter.

With Mike Green facing a potential Shanaban for his hit on Brett Connolly, the insertion of Erskine or fellow healthy scratch Roman Hamrlik could happen over the weekend, and that's creating some interesting discussion around the Caps' locker room.

Via CSN Washington, emphasis ours:

"Dale told me, when I was actually playing, it was after the Montreal game when I took the triple minor, he said I played with too much energy," Erskine said. "I had to slow things down. He talked about lunging at players trying to get the hit. That was basically the last time I talked to him."

That Montreal game was on Jan. 18. For the record, it's now March 9.

It's been 51 days since Dale Hunter has talked to John Erskine.
