Ben Bishop injury: Lightning goalie day-to-day with lower-body issue

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury, the team announced on Friday morning.

Bishop sustained the injury in Thursday night's victory over the Florida Panthers, according to Damien Cristodero of the Tampa Bay Times. The 26-year-old goaltender was able to complete the contest despite the injury, which is not believed to be serious. However, the club did recall goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis of the Florida Everblades from the ECHL as a precautionary measure.

Sounds as if Gudlevskis just here for practice. Likely goes to Syracuse tomorrow. Desjardins will come up to back up Lindback.

Tampa Bay returns to action on Saturday night when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins, which will be the second game of a seven-game home stand.

Bishop has appeared in three games this season and has registered a win in each contest. He has accumulated a .928 save percentage with a 1.93 goals against average over that span. In the event that Bishop is unavailable to play Saturday night, it appears as though Anders Lindback will be called upon to play. Lindback has registered an .880 save percentage and 3.10 goals against average in one appearance this season.
