Scott Hartnell, Vincent Lecavalier will miss a week with injuries

The Flyers forwards both exited Friday's game against Phoenix.

More bad news for the struggling Philadelphia Flyers, as General Manager Paul Holmgren confirmed this morning Vincent Lecavalier and Scott Hartnell will both miss at least a week with injuries.

Both forwards were injured in Friday's game against the Phoenix Coyotes. Hartnell lasted four shifts into the contest before leaving with what Holmgren is calling an upper-body injury. The injury is just another setback in what has already been a dismal start to the season for Hartnell, who has no points and is minus-2 through five games.

Lecavalier, the team leader in points, suffered a lower-body injury in the second period on Friday and failed to return for the final frame.

Holmgren said both players would be further evaluated on Saturday and will not join the team in Detroit. The Flyers are expected to recall a player from the AHL's Adirondack Phantoms this weekend.
