Taylor Hall injury: Oilers forward to undergo MRI on knee

Taylor Hall will undergo an MRI on his knee, which was injured against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall returned to Edmonton on Sunday to undergo an MRI on his knee, the team announced.

Hall sustained the injury during Saturday's contest against the Ottawa Senators. Ottawa defenseman Eric Gryba is being credited with inflicting the injury, as he connected on a hit at the midway mark of the second period that NHL.com and Sportsnet are attributing as the action that inflicted the pain. In addition, video on NHL.com shows Hall leaving the ice after being slashed on the knee by Kyle Turris.

The Canadian Press reports that Hall left the arena on Saturday with a brace on his knee.

Head coach Dallas Eakins stated he is not aware of the injury's severity, but did confirm it was a knee issue, via NHL.com:

"I know it's his knee. I don't know the severity of it. Our doctors will look at it and let us know. When a guy doesn't come back in the game, usually it's something that's going to be more than a day or two. But I have no idea right now."

Hall has recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) over the span of nine games this season.
