Derick Brassard with a terrible giveaway

Who was Derick Brassard trying to pass to on this play?

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Winnipeg Jets rookie John Albert scored his first NHL goal on Monday night against the New York Rangers thanks to a beautiful assist from Derick Brassard to start the play.

This is good news for the Jets, as it gave them a 2-1 lead midway through the second period. It was bad news for the Rangers because, well, Brassard plays for their team.

If you're confused as to what Brassard was trying to do on that play and who he was trying to pass it to, you're probably not alone. He was demoted to the fourth line on his very next shift.
