Stars vs. Wild: Zach Parise gets all up in Kari Lehtonen's kitchen on goal

Parise is such a cliche. (In a good way.)

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

GRIT. GOES TO THE DIRTY AREAS. LEADERSHIP. All cliches that describe Zach Parise.

The Dallas Stars have an extremely young defense, and thus are prone to countless mistakes throughout a hockey game. So no matter how much brilliance he can show off in net, sometimes there isn't much Kari Lehtonen can do to keep the puck out.

That's been the story of his season, and it was the story of the first goal he allowed on Monday.

Stephane Robidas and Brenden Dillon let Parise slip in behind them and outright accost Lehtonen in the goal crease. Lehtonen somehow made three (three!) saves but Parise whacked the puck home to tie the game at 1-1.
