The Anaheim Ducks have a chance to sweep a three-game series against the Dallas Stars on Friday at home, and they aren't making much of that opportunity so far.
The Stars scored a shorthanded goal in the first period when Viktor Fasth made an egregious decision to leave his net. Eric Nystrom went chasing after the puck with Corey Perry as it left the Stars' zone, and Fasth decided to scamper out of his crease when it appeared Nystrom would win the race. Unfortunately for Fasth, Nystrom also beat him to the puck.
The Ducks were dead in the water (hunting joke!) and Nystrom scored the easiest goal of his career. Since then, Kari Lehtonen robbed Saku Koivu on the doorstep and Alex Chiasson scored his first career goal to give the Stars a 3-1 lead.
