NHL Draft 2013: Order of selection, start time, and how to watch

The 2013 NHL Draft will be held Sunday afternoon in Newark, N.J.

The 2013 NHL Draft kicks off at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 30 from the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., home of the New Jersey Devils. It's expected that the seven-round event -- condensed to one day this year thanks to the lockout -- will run about seven or eight hours in duration.

In the United States, NBC Sports Network will broadcast the Draft, simulcasting TSN's coverage from Canada through approximately 8 p.m. ET. From there, the coverage will switch to NHL Network in the United States. In Canada, TSN's coverage will go on through all seven rounds.

It's expected to be a busy day full of player movement, and there's still doubt on who will be selected with the No. 1 overall selection. Seth Jones could become the first African American player selected first overall, but the Colorado Avalanche, who hold that top pick, have said they'd prefer to take forward Nathan MacKinnon. Jones, MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin are expected to round out the top three picks.
