Buffalo Sabres could trade Ryan Miller before Olympic break

Minnesota looks like a potential destination for the American goaltender.

As they fall further and further towards the top overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, it's becoming more and more likely the Buffalo Sabres will trade star goaltender Ryan Miller.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reported the rumor on Saturday evening, adding that there's a train of thought the Sabres are willing to trade Miller before he reports to Team USA for the 2014 Winter Olympics in two weeks.

However, it's a pretty dry market of interest for starting goaltenders. Minnesota could be interested with the continuing injury woes of Nicklas Backstrom and Josh Harding. Garrioch reports they could be interested for the right price. St. Louis has come up in rumors but GM Doug Armstrong has "emphatically backed Jaroslav Halak" according to Garrioch.

Miller has been solid for Buffalo despite playing behind a woefully deficient roster. He has a 2.62 goals against average and a .926 save percentage in 35 games this season.
