A Rangers fan once remarked to me that they're the only team in the National Hockey League with three home arenas, referring of course to Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center in New Jersey, and Nassau Coliseum on Long Island.
It's true: you'll hear "Potvin sucks!" chants at all three buildings with regularity. But after a solid 20 years of irrelevancy (more or less), the New York Islanders and their fans finally seem to have some life again this season. There's no more evidence of that life than a loud, proud "Let's Go Islanders!" chant raining down from the seats at Madison Square Garden, and Rangers fans helpless to stop it.
