The Edmonton Oilers lost their best player on Saturday when Taylor Hall exited the game with an apparent leg injury and did not return.
Hall, one of the fastest humans on skates, suffered the injury in the second period against the Vancouver Canucks when a rush to the net ended with his leg colliding hard with the goal post. He managed to get back to his team's bench under his own power before immediately hobbling to the locker room.
Shortly afterward, the Oilers announced he would not return to the game.
It's a difficult setback for Hall, who has been through injury issues before. He was enjoying a nice start to the season before the injury, with six goals and nine points through ten games.
