Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry has missed the past four games and defenseman Francois Beauchemin has missed the past two with what the team called a "viral gland infection." The Ducks cleared up what exactly that meant on Wednesday night: They have the mumps.
UPDATE: Perry and Beauchemin test results reveal both have the mumps. Both players are considered day to day.

Aside from this being seemingly baffling news when you consider most everyone is vaccinated against the mumps when you're a child, there is some good news. The Ducks say Perry has been cleared to play and can return in a matter of days. Beauchemin, however, is still under quarantine for the virus.
This season, Perry has been one of the Ducks' best players and leads the team with 11 goals. Beauchemin has been the Ducks leader in average time on ice at 22:51 and a general rock along the blue line.
