The snowstorm in Buffalo caused a lot of problems for the Sabres on Tuesday. It made getting to the arena difficult for their opponents and their crowd, and it forced them into an uncomfortable situation with their goalies.
Starter Michal Neuvirth left in the first period with a lower-body injury, so the Sabres were left with only Jhonas Enroth as an available goalie. But what if Enroth got hurt too? There's six feet of snow outside, so they can't exactly bus in a minor leaguer on a whim.
Have no fear, Arturs Irbe is here!

As with the Dwayne Roloson situation a few weeks back, we obviously wished no harm on Enroth. But admit it, wouldn't it be THE BEST THING EVER if Arturs Irbe played in net tonight? Unfortunately for us (and fortunately for Buffalo), there was no need, as the Enroth finished the 4-1 win.
