NHL schedule 2014: Predators host Kings in Western showdown

There are seven games on the schedule, but all eyes should be on Nashville.

It's your typical Tuesday NHL night in that there are seven games to keep an eye on. What's atypical about it is there's one to really look out for and it's happening in Nashville.

All eyes will turn to Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee where the Predators host the Los Angeles Kings at 8 p.m. ET. Nashville is one point behind the St. Louis Blues in the Central Division and two points better than the Kings. L.A. comes into the game looking to get consistent on the road.

The Kings are 1-4-3 away from Staples Center this season and are on the second game of a three-game road trip. The lost 5-4 to the Dallas Stars Saturday. One challenge for the Predators will be slowing down the Kings' offense as they have 15 goals in the past four games and three of those were wins. Tanner Pearson and Justin Williams have been hot recently and Pearson is up to nine goals this season.

Fortunately for Nashville, they've got Pekka Rinne in goal. Rinne has been a rock with a .930 save percentage and one shutout. He's 13-3-1 this season and stopping pucks at that rate is a big reason why, but it's not the only reason.

They also have rookie Filip Forsberg, James Neal, and Mike Ribeiro filling up the net. They're not homegrown guys, but they are some of the Predators most recent additions and they're making both David Poile and Peter Laviolette look brilliant.

Here's the rest of the Tuesday schedule. You can catch all the games on GameCenter Live and Center Ice.
