Buffalo has been working hard to unload some of its more attractive pieces to acquire future assets as the Sabres go through a rebuild. While the deal wasn't announced until after the 3 p.m. trade deadline, Buffalo has sent Matt Moulson and Cody McCormick to the Minnesota Wild for Tony Mitchell and undisclosed draft picks.

Minnesota has been busy during the deadline period, first acquiring Ilya Bryzgalov to help with its goalie situation, and now adding a skilled forward in Moulson, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
For Buffalo, it was a trade deadline filled with unloading assets. The Sabres traded away Ryan Miller, Steve Ott, and Moulson, while they were able to acquire at least two draft picks, and a highly touted prospect in Hudson Fasching.
