Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jesse Joensuu earned a punch to the face on Sunday night.
Late in the second period, Joensuu knocked Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty off his feet near the Kings net. The Kings were not happy about this, and bruiser Jordan Nolan immediately grabbed Joensuu as referees gathered around them.
Now, by definition, a sucker punch refers to hitting someone without warning. I'd say what Nolan did next to Joensuu fits nicely under that definition.
Yeesh. Nolan obviously got sent to the sin bin for that one. Even Kings fans thought it was an incredibly dumb thing to do.
