Minnesota deserved this win.
The Wild fired 44 shots at Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov through 60 minutes of hockey but still found themselves in overtime because Colorado's goalie was playing out of his mind and doing his best to steal a game for his team.
Just five minutes into the overtime period, Mikael Granlund finally found a way to beat Varlamov, and it was absolutely beautiful as he cut through the Colorado defense and then scored while flying through the air.
Now that is how you win a game in overtime.
With the win, Minnesota is on the board against Colorado and trails the series 2-1. Darcy Kuemper got the start in net for the Wild and stopped all 22 shots he faced in his first career NHL playoff start.
