This will make Pittsburgh Penguins fans panic, even if it shouldn't: Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin will each miss the start of training camp this week with what the team is calling injuries suffered "while preparing for camp."
Crosby and Malkin are being held out on a precautionary basis, general manager Jim Rutherford said, and coach Mike Johnston said that he doesn't expect either player to be out for an extended period of time. We don't know exactly what these injuries are, but they happened in the last week or so.
In Malkin's case, we're totally clueless as to his ailment. In Crosby's case, Johnston told the media that it's not related to his previously injured wrist, and that's all we know.
