The Dallas Stars are well known for their in-game entertainment troll jobs, but their latest attempt might have backfired and upset their own fan base.
The Stars were playing the Vancouver Canucks at home on Thursday, and the American Airlines Center DJ started the period with one Nickelback song. Get it? The Canucks are from Canada, and so is Nickelback. Kind of funny. Luckily it was just one song, right?
Wrong. They played Nickelback for the entire period during every stoppage.
I may have to leave the @DallasStars game due to the amount of @Nickelback they are playing... pic.twitter.com/o36JSBDBan

It is sort of a hilarious concept. Only, Stars fans reacted violently to it.
Hey @DallasStars could y'all calm it on all the nickelback we are trying to enjoy the game

Kudos, Stars. You continue to be in-arena entertainment savants.
