With the 2016 World Juniors Championship right around the corner, Hockey Canada announced their selection camp roster on Tuesday.
NHL fans should be excited, since the camp roster is chock-full of NHL prospects right on the cusp of breaking into the league. Chief among them are Arizona Coyotes center Dylan Strome and Toronto Maple Leafs center Mitch Marner, who were both drafted in the first 10 picks of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In fact, 12 players on the roster were selected in the 2015 draft last June.
The New York Islanders and Coyotes will bring the biggest contingents to the camp, with three players from each franchise. Team Canada's selection camp begins on Dec. 10, and final rosters will be announced shortly thereafter. Team USA should announce their camp rosters later this week.
The 2016 World Junior Championship begins on Dec. 26 in Helsinki, Finland. Canada will try to defend their gold medal from the 2015 tournament.
