Jack Eichel sets up Sabres opening goal with no-look backhanded assist

I think this kid is good.

Jack Eichel hasn't made much noise recently as one of the league's top rookies. It's been the Dylan LarkinArtemi Panarin, and Max Domi show so far, but that's OK. We all know Eichel is a generational talent for the Sabres and he showed it against the Metropolitan Division's best in the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.

Eichel was key in setting up Brian Gionta's opening goal against Braden Holtby six minutes into the first period of their game. The rookie toe dragged around a Washington defender before putting some sauce on a no-look backhand pass that landed right on Gionta's stick for the tap in goal past Holtby's left pad.

The assist was Eichel's 10th of the year and his 20th point in 36 games.
