When Islanders star John Tavares goes one-on-one with Kings star defenseman Drew Doughty, it's usually a toss-up as to who will come out as the victor.
That is, unless Tavares just straight-up steals Doughty's stick from him. Which he did on Thursday, leaving Doughty dumbfounded and empty-handed.
The little stick-toss at the end was a nice touch, John. Forced to defend without a stick, Doughty shoved Cal Clutterbuck and got a penalty for interference. So it's safe to say Tavares won this battle handily.
