Alexander Semin scores highlight reel goal after being tripped

There's nothing enigmatic about this play.

Alexander Semin's work ethic is routinely criticized -- sometimes fairly, sometimes not -- but his detractors will have to sit on their hands for now.

The oft-maligned forward scored a beautiful no-look goal on Sunday in which he swept the puck into the net while lying flat on the ice. Rob Klinkhammer tripped Semin prior to the tally, but an impressive effort helped put Carolina on the board and cut Edmonton's lead to two.

Semin now has four goals on the season.
