• Gabriel Landeskog: clutch. Pensburgh broke down just how the Colorado captain made them sad. Colorado erased a two-goal deficit in its season opener against the Stars, and Landeskog scored two late to beat the Pens.
• The Rangers and Sharks engaged in a no-holds-barred, adrenaline-fueled thrill ride. But there’s no way you can perpetrate that amount of carnage and mayhem and not incur a considerable amount of paperwork.
• Detroit opened their final season at The Joe with an entertaining and dominant win over the Senators. Also included: a Mike Green hat trick!
• Boston rebounded with a nice effort in Winnipeg.
