Matt Duchene and the Colorado Avalanche are flying high.
They finished the preseason undefeated. They rallied from two-goal deficits in their first two games of the season against the defending Western Conference regular season winner Dallas Stars and the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
And now they’re in Washington, where they’re taking the whole “flying high” thing too literally.

Judges at the scene gave Duchene a 7/10. Beautiful form. Good technique. But couldn’t stick the landing.
