The NHL’s first outdoor game of the 2016-17 season comes just a mere two weeks into hockey action. While most of the United States is in the midst of fall, Canada will be hosting an outdoor game on a crisp mid-40 degree — Fahrenheit! — day.

In the first of four outdoor games this year, and the first Heritage Classic since 2014, the Jets will be hosting the Oilers at Investors Group Field in Winnipeg. Both Canadian teams have done well for themselves, Edmonton in particular. The Oilers are 4-1 in the first week, with their only loss a 6-2 blowout to the Sabres.

Meanwhile, the Jets have won both of their games in overtime after trailing coming into the third period though have a pair of losses to match. The game will be Connor McDavid’s first outdoor game and the first career matchup between McDavid and No. 2 pick from this year Patrik Laine, who had a hat trick in the Jets last game versus the Maple Leafs.
