What a time for a social media gaffe. The Capitals, like every team in every sport in existence, are in the midst of their promotional night schedule. Wednesday marks Washington’s first ever “Social Media Night,” and honestly everything about this seems like a bad idea.
Maybe the Capitals’ worst blunder was trying to make a hip and trendy joke about face-swaps that backfired tremendously.

Yes, that’s just a girl and her dad trying to enjoy a hockey game. Not a face-swap. Which is apparently the joke, according to the Capitals’ Twitter!
@Emily_Longtin psssst erbody, that's the joke #CapsSocialNight!!!

Thankfully, someone fixed the social team’s gaffe with an actual face-swap of Emily and her dad.
