For the second time in as many weeks, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas was ejected for an illegal hit on Tuesday.
The hit occurred early in the first period as the Flyers took on the New Jersey Devils. Devils forward (and noted fighter) Bobby Farnham was jostling with Flyers defenseman Nick Schultz for a good amount of time on a shift. As the play moved back up ice, Farnham was getting in a few last words at Schultz when Gudas strafed him with a high hit as he wasn't looking.
Gudas was immediately assessed a five-minute major for a hit to the head and a 10-minute game misconduct. He hit the showers early. Farnham was shaken up but OK after the hit.
On Feb. 2, Gudas was ejected for clipping and injuring Montreal Canadiens winger Lucas Lessio. He escaped suspension for that play, but he probably won't for this one.
