Flyers defenseman stops a goal in midair with a last-second stick save

In Philadelphia Flyers circles, Andrew MacDonald is more known for being the center of an ill-advised trade than for his actual hockey contributions.

But at least he'll have one highlight to hang his hat on when he eventually leaves the club.

The Flyers were nursing a one-goal lead late against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday when Wild center Mikael Granlund received the puck with a gaping net in front of him. At first it looked like Flyers goalie Michal Neuvirth had made the miraculous stop, but no.

It was Andrew MacDonald.


The Flyers won the trade.
