Zac Rinaldo has now accumulated 19 games worth of suspension time from the NHL. The latest supplemental discipline comes after Rinaldo took a run at the head of Lightning forward Cedric Paquette, earning him a five-game suspension from the league.
The video below from the Department of Player Safety highlights Rinaldo's recent wrongdoings and the reasons for the suspension.
The video clearly highlights Rinaldo's past history as a repeat offender as a main reason for the five-game suspension that was handed down to the Bruins forward. Though Paquette wasn't injured by the collision, Rinaldo will sit as a result.
Interestingly enough, Rinaldo was just sent to the AHL over the weekend by the Bruins, which puts Boston in a strange situation. Suspensions don't work between the NHL and AHL, so the Bruins ultimately hold the leash in determining Rinaldo's fate should they decide to call him up again this season.
