This is certainly one way to say hello to a city in which you won two Stanley Cups.
Kris Versteeg, a Blackhawk for five seasons, is becoming a bit of a journeyman. The forward has gone through six different cities in his nine-year NHL career. Most of his time was spent in Chicago, where he was a part of two of the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup seasons in 2010 and 2015.
Versteeg was offloaded last offseason from the Blackhawks so the team could re-sign key pieces, and he landed in Carolina before being dealt to Los Angeles at the trade deadline. He made his triumphant return to the city of Chicago for the first time in a Kings uniform, and naturally, scored the opening goal for the bad guys.
That's one way to show up your old team.
