It was only a matter of time until Jaromir Jagr broke Gordie Howe's record. Four days after an assist against the Avalanche tied him with Howe's record of 1,850 points, Jagr now has sole ownership of the third overall spot thanks to an assist on Aleksander Barkov's goal.

It's certainly not the cleanest, but Jagr's pass through the crease finds its way off of goaltender Tuukka Rask's pads and to Barkov for the eventual goal.
Jagr is now 36 points behind the second all-time scorer, Mark Messier, and his record of 1,887. Wayne Gretzky's record of 2,857 is likely just out of reach of Jagr at this stage in his career, but being the third-best points scorer in the NHL is still quite the feat.
