Forget New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault; defenseman Dan Girardi seems to be in the doghouses of every Rangers fan this season.
And for good reason: stats-wise, he's a possession black hole for his teammates. Possession is a hard thing for many fans to wrap their head around, but Girardi provided an easy example of how bad he is in that category on Tuesday.
In one sequence in the third period, Girardi just started passing to nobody. Well, that's not true. He kept passing to the same Buffalo Sabres opponent.
Amazing. That, ladies and gentlemen, is the definition of bad possession.
