The Dallas Stars surprised some with a win in Game 1 over the St. Louis Blues. They'll try to push their series lead to 2-0 on Sunday when the puck drops in Game 2 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC.
Scouting the Stars
Dallas did everything right in Game 1, proving they can win a grinding, low-scoring game against the Blues without the likes of Tyler Seguin. Kari Lehtonen will be in net again after stopping 27 shots, including 14 in the pivotal third period. Patrick Eaves didn't skate on Saturday after taking a shot to the ankle that injured him. In response, the Stars called up forwards Brett Ritchie and Curtis McKenzie. Valeri Nichushkin will likely replace Eaves in the lineup.
Scouting the Blues
St. Louis couldn't ask for more from goalie Brian Elliott, whose 36 saves were the difference between a one-goal game and what could've been a blowout. Vladimir Tarasenko will need to find some space to work with in Game 2; the Stars kept him to three shots and no points in Game 1. The Blues' objective will be to grind down the Stars in the offensive zone harder than they did on Friday.
