Harambe lives on the back of a junior hockey player’s goalie mask

“Legends never die.”

Harambe tributes have swept the nation this summer after the gorilla was tragically shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo in May for grabbing a child. They’ve recently made their way into the world of sports — you can still buy custom NFL jerseys with "Harambe" on the back, by the way — but for the most part have been absent in hockey.

That was until now, thanks to goaltender Bo Taylor of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in Quebec.

Yes, that is a goalie mask with Harambe painted on the back. I almost can’t believe that it’s real — like the Minions mask that popped up at an NHL game this year — but here it is, folks. This is what you’ve done. I hope you’re happy with yourselves.
