Vancouver Canucks score a knuckle-puck goal from center ice on their first shot of the game

Poor Brian Elliott ...

You can’t predict knuckle-pucks. Flames’ goaltender Brian Elliott found that out first hand as the Canucks’ first shot on goal, from center ice no less, found the back of the net.

On what seemed to be a routine shot from the neutral zone from Alex Edler, the puck took a nose-dive and slipped past Elliott’s glove hand.

A hard one to swallow for Elliott for sure, but it’s not the first time long pucks have eluded netminders. And it certainly won’t be the last.
