It’s been a rough season for the goaltenders of the Philadelphia Flyers. Both Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth have underperformed in a position that the Flyers actually have solid depth in.
On Saturday, however, Neuvirth showed that he’s still capable of being the goaltender Philadelphia needs after robbing Dustin Brown with a sensational stretch glove save.
Brown was as wide open as could be after a Flyer turnover in their own zone, but Neuvirth stoned the Kings forward to atone for the mistake. Brown was almost in the clear too, as it looked like Neuvirth overcommitted to his hip move but he was able to stretch out the glove on a wide open net.
Talk about a clutch save to keep the game tied at zero.
