New, comments

San Francisco visits Seattle on Thursday in a key game for both teams' playoff chances.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are a perfect 6-0 ATS over their last six games against the San Francisco 49ers but are 0-5 SU in their last five trips to San Francisco. Something has to give when Seattle visits San Francisco on Thursday night.

Seattle is a 1-point road underdog going into San Francisco according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. With a recent history of good containment against Colin Kaepernick and improved defensive play in recent weeks, look for Seattle to come out on top in this one as a small road underdog.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Seattle 25.4, San Francisco 20.5

Early-season inconsistencies on both sides of the ball led to a pedestrian 3-3 SU and ATS start to the season for Seattle. But over their last five games the Seahawks are 4-1 SU, and they are 2-1 ATS over their last three games as well.

The Seattle defense has allowed only 15.4 points per game over its last five, after allowing an uncharacteristic 25 points per game over its previous five games. The Seahawks are 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games as road underdogs.

The 49ers host the Seahawks at 8:30pm ET Thursday night at Levi's Stadium.

Things appeared to be unraveling for San Francisco after losing in a 42-17 blowout at Denver and then 13-10 at home against St. Louis, but the 49ers have settled down with three straight wins and a 2-1 ATS record over their last three games.

San Francisco's defense has continued to play well in spite of injuries to key defensive players such as Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman. Colin Kaepernick is 1-3 SU in four career starts against Seattle with only three touchdown passes and seven interceptions against the Seahawks.

The UNDER is 5-1 in the last six games between Seattle and San Francisco, 5-2 in Seattle's last seven NFC West road games and 3-0 in San Francisco's last three NFC West home games. Thursday's total is set at 39.5 on the Week 13 NFL betting lines.

Home field could help Kaepernick get the upper hand this Thanksgiving. But with Seattle boasting the healthier defense and a history of dominance over him, the Seahawks look like a solid play at +1.
