Cowboys vs. Packers 2016 odds: Favored Green Bay eyes sixth straight win against Dallas

The Green Bay Packers are home betting favorites against the Dallas Cowboys in a battle between two of the NFC's best teams.

The Green Bay Packers are 5-0 straight up and 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers hope to extend the win streak to six this Sunday at home against Dallas.

Green Bay is a 4-point home favorite at Lambeau Field at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last four home games against the Cowboys, the Packers are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS with an average margin of victory of 18.5 points per game.

Despite out-gaining the New York Giants by 187 total yards and dominating time of possession with 36:38, the Packers had to settle for a push in Sunday night's 23-16 win as a 7-point favorite.

For the second straight game, Green Bay took a double-digit lead in the first half and was content to ride it out in the second half. Eddie Lacy left the game early in the second half with an ankle injury, leaving his status for this Sunday's game up in the air.

The win over New York last Sunday was Green Bay's 11th straight home win in the month of October. The Packers are 11-0 SU and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 October home games per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Green Bay -4 / 44 Points

Trend: The Cowboys are 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the Packers.

Trend: The Packers are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games in October.

The Cowboys have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2016 season, starting the season off with a 4-1 SU and 4-0-1 ATS record through the first five games and boosting their postseason expectancy to almost 70% according to website PredictionMachine.com.

Dallas ended last season on a 2-12 SU and 3-10-1 ATS skid, and appeared to be on their way towards another rough year when Tony Romo went down with a back injury during the preseason. But rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has filled in admirably, and the defense has played well allowing only 18.2 points per game. The Cowboys are 0-5-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with winning records.

Sunday's total is set at 44 points on the NFL lines. The UNDER is 10-1 in Green Bay's last 11 games coming off a win.

Dallas has passed the eye test so far this season, but this week's game against Green Bay will be a good test for the Cowboys. Green Bay is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in its last five games played in Week 6.
