Jets vs. Cardinals 2016 odds: Arizona a TD favorite on Monday night as QB Palmer returns

The Arizona Cardinals will try to improve to 3-3 on the season on Monday night as touchdown favorites at home against the New York Jets.

The Arizona Cardinals are 8-0 straight up and 5-3 against the spread in their last eight home games coming off a loss at home. The Cardinals will try to avoid losing two straight home games for the first time since 2012 this Monday night hosting the New York Jets.

Arizona is a 7-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last 10 games at home, the Cardinals are just 2-8 ATS.

With a 33-21 road win over the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday night, the Cardinals broke out of a 2-5 SU and 1-6 ATS slump. The 49ers came at an excellent time for the slumping Cardinals, and now Arizona gets another scheduling favor hosting the reeling Jets this week.

Carson Palmer has struggled this season with just six touchdown passes and five interceptions through four games, but he is set to return to action this week after missing the 49ers game with concussion symptoms.

The Cardinals have faced the Jets five times since 1996. New York is 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS over that stretch per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Arizona -7 / 46.5 Points

Trend: The Cardinals are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games at home.

Trend: The Jets are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games after an ATS loss.

New York started its season off with a respectable 1-1 SU and 1-0-1 ATS record, losing to Cincinnati at home by one point and beating the Buffalo Bills on the road 37-31. It's been all downhill from there for the Jets, who have been outscored 82-33 across three straight double-digit losses.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick leads the NFL in interceptions with 10 and ranks dead last in passer rating at 64.7. The Jets are 3-8 SU and 4-5-2 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog.

Monday night's total is set at 46.5 points. The UNDER is 3-1 in the last four games between Arizona and New York.

Both New York and Arizona came into the 2016 season with playoff expectations, but both enter Week 6 under .500 and in desperate need of a win. While both of these teams have struggled offensively this season, the Jets have also been awful on defense, allowing 303 passing yards per game and 27.2 points per game.

That edge is why Arizona enters Monday night as such a big favorite at online sports betting sites.
