Buccaneers vs. Panthers 2016 odds: Carolina carries ATS run vs. Tampa Bay into Monday

The Carolina Panthers will be looking to extend their winning streak over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as betting favorites for Monday night.

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Carolina Panthers are 6-0 straight up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Panthers seek a seventh straight win over their division rival this Monday night at home.

Carolina is a 4.5-point home favorite at Bank of America Stadium at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. In their last 14 games against teams with losing records, the Panthers are a perfect 14-0 SU.

Since entering the Super Bowl on a 17-1 SU and 13-5 ATS run last season, Carolina is suddenly just 1-4 SU and ATS in its last five games. The Panthers finished sixth in the NFL in scoring defense last season allowing 19.3 points per game, but have so far this season allowed at least 21 points in every game.

The defense was particularly awful last Sunday against Atlanta, allowing 500 passing yards to Matt Ryan and 300 receiving yards to Julio Jones in a 48-33 road loss.

Over the team's last 12 games played in the month of October, Carolina is 7-4-1 SU and 9-3 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Carolina -4.5 / 46 Points

Trend: The Buccaneers are 0-6 SU and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against the Panthers.

Trend: The Panthers are 14-0 SU in their last 14 games against teams with losing records.

Through the first four games of the regular season, Jameis Winston has found himself mired in a bit of a sophomore slump.

After a brilliant four-touchdown performance in a 31-24 road upset over Atlanta in Week 1, Winston has stumbled with just four touchdown passes and seven interceptions over the team's last three games, leading Tampa Bay to an 0-3 SU and ATS run over that stretch. Dating back to last season, the Buccaneers are now 1-7 SU and ATS over their last eight games.

Monday night's total is set at 46 points. The UNDER is 7-3 in Tampa Bay's last 10 games against AFC South division rivals.

Heading into the weekend, Cam Newton was still in concussion protocol but has not been officially ruled out for Monday night. When his status becomes official, it will likely have a late impact on this game's betting line.

On the Tampa Bay side, starting running back Doug Martin is still out with a hamstring injury, and backup Charles Sims is questionable with a knee injury.
