NFL playoff odds, Steelers vs. Dolphins: Pittsburgh set as double-digit betting favorites

The Pittsburgh Steelers will try to stay hot at home hosting the Miami Dolphins this Sunday as big betting favorites for their AFC Wild Card matchup.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 7-0 straight up and 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall. The Steelers can extend their winning streak to eight games this Sunday afternoon with a win at home over the Miami Dolphins.

Pittsburgh is a 10-point home favorite in this Wild Card matchup at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. When these two teams met back in Week 6, the Steelers lost 30-15 as a 7.5-point road favorite in Miami.

The Steelers have been remarkably consistent on offense over their last eight games, averaging 26.9 points while never scoring fewer than 24 points in a game over that stretch.

While Antonio Brown continues to be one of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the league, Le'Veon Bell may be the star of this offense averaging 175 yards from scrimmage per game over his last seven games with nine touchdowns over that stretch. Sunday's game will be Bell's postseason debut.

In Pittsburgh's last nine games as a double-digit favorite, the Steelers are 8-1 SU but just 3-6 ATS per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Betting Line / Total: Pittsburgh -10 / 45.5 Points

Trend: The Dolphins are 3-0 ATS in their last three games against the Steelers.

Trend: The Steelers are 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.

Fueled by a breakout season from running back Jay Ajayi, Miami finished the regular season on a 9-2 SU and 8-2-1 ATS run that included five outright upsets to earn the final Wild Card spot in the AFC. Ajayi was instrumental in Miami's upset over Pittsburgh back in October, rushing for 204 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries.

The Dolphins will likely need another big game from their star running back this Sunday as the defense has surrendered 28 points per game over the team's last five games. Miami is 13-4 ATS in its last 17 games as a double-digit underdog.

Sunday's total is set at 45.5 points. The OVER is 22-6 in Pittsburgh's last 28 games played in the month of January.

The last time these two teams met, Ajayi was an unknown who caught the Pittsburgh defense off guard. This time around, he will be the focus of their preparations, especially with starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill still out. The Steelers will score their share of points and likely load the box early and often, putting pressure on backup Matt Moore to keep this game competitive.
