I think everyone freaked out a little bit when Stephen Strasburg left Saturday's game early, and for justifiable reasons. He is one of the world's greatest talents, and no one wants to see him get hurt. So now, the day after, it seems like we have good news:

Strasburg is feeling much better, and if he's hurt at all, it seems the injury is rather minor. Of course, adds the Post:

Nationals rookie pitcher Stephen Strasburg reported significant improvement in his right forearm this morning.
...
While Riggleman acknowledged the improvement in Strasburg's condition, he said the team would "still be very conservative" with the phenom, in regards to a potential return to the mound -- perhaps a signal the team is at least considering shutting him down for the year.

What's important isn't the remainder of Strasburg's 2010. It's the health of his arm, and at least for now - pending MRI results - it appears that his arm is doing all right.

Following his in-game injury, we have an early diagnosis on Stephen Strasburg:

Obviously, the MRI should better reveal what happened, and how Strasburg looks going forward. Whatever the case may be, though, the likelihood is that the Nationals will take the cautious approach and shut Strasburg down for the rest of the year so as not to put him in any further risk.

Washington rookie phenom Stephen Strasburg suffered an apparent injury in his pitching elbow during the fifth inning of the Nationals' game at the Philadelphia Phillies today.

Strasburg was putting together another very good outing, with six strikeouts and only two hits allowed, when he appeared to hurt his elbow during his 56th pitch. He shook his elbow while grimacing after the pitch, and he was summarily removed from the game.

If this injury lands Strasburg on the disabled list, it's unlikely he'll return to the team before 2011; with only 39 games left on the Nationals' schedule and no prospect for postseason play, there wouldn't be any incentive for the Nationals to hurry their prized righty back from the injury--especially since Strasburg went on the DL just last month with shoulder inflammation.
