7. Timbers: Sanna Nyassi, MF, Seattle Sounders
Chopping Timber: Nyassi has proven to be a very capable midfielder when he wants to be. I'm chalking up his potential to his entire youth factor he has going for him. Regardless, his performance for Seattle at this past year's Open Cup, particularly the final is proof enough that the kid has some serious potential brewing inside of him. Potential which is being ignored by Seattle.
8. Whitecaps: Chukwudi Chijindu, MF/FW, Chivas USA
86 Forever: A fairly young player and a late bloomer, Chijindu isn't anybody who's going to win championships on his own but he's plenty to recommend him. His right foot is strong enough to cause injury, when he gets the shot away. He can play a couple of positions, and when I had the privilege to see him on loan with Miami FC last year he stood out. He's a risky piece of business, but one that could pay off.
Players teams protected after one player was selected: Jonathan Leathers (KC), Cam Weaver (Houston), Baggio Husidic (Chicago), all of Seattle (Nathan Sturgis was first player protected), Ibrahim Salou (NY)
