MLS All-Star Game 2011: Chicharito Will Miss Game After Spending Night In Hospital, Suffering Concussion

Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) will miss Wednesday's MLS All-Star Game after spending Tuesday night in the hospital, the Manchester United website reported. Chicharito suffered a mild concussion during a training session at Red Bull Arena on Tuesday. The injury was not considered serious, according to club spokesman:

"We have taken all the necessary precautions, which included an overnight stay in hospital.  The manager will give further updates in due course."

Chicharito was expected to be one of the star attractions of the game, the second straight year Manchester United has played the MLS All-Stars. Chicharito had also been unable to play in previous friendlies United had played during their summer U.S. tour.

Among the United players that are expected to make an appearance are Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Nemanja Vidic. They will play a team headlined by the likes of David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Omar Bravo

The game kicks off at 8:30 p.m. (eastern) and will be broadcast on ESPN2, Galavision and TSN). Tickets can be purchased here.
